28th September 2026 Hiking - Walking: Orwell County Park Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2.50 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Monday 28th September - walk **** – Orwell Country Park near Ipswich – mainly cloudy. A bit of a cloudy day with some brief glimpse of sun but we still had breakfast inn the garden before doing my exercises. With the picnic packed we drove over to Orwell Country Park near Ipswich for a walk down to the River Orwell. We took the usual route down through the woods before reaching the river where the wind was light and the tide very high so we had to take the high path but there was just enough beach it sit and have lunch in our usual spot opposite Stoke Sailing Club but had to move for our cuppa when the tide reached our feet! The very high tide had just turned but the path was flooded so we had to take the inland route to the Orwell Bridge and up the path next to the busy A 14 and home via the country route past Levington. Then after tea for the third day running Felixstowe was treated to another top sunset! Photo Album here |
